Acting as an interim Financial Controller, I work closely with business owners to understand how their finance function is operating and where improvements can be made.
A big part of what I do is a “Finance MOT” — reviewing processes, controls, and reporting to make sure everything is accurate, efficient, and giving you the information you actually need to run your business. Alongside this, I take a detailed look at the P&L to identify areas where costs can be reduced or better managed. Often there are simple opportunities to save money or improve margins that have just gone unnoticed.
