81 members and guests attended our networking breakfast in The Ibrox Suite, Ibrox Stadium.

In 2008 Derek Stewart entered his first triathlon to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres and to give him a reason to get fit and learn to swim properly. In 2010 he completed my first Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile marathon) to provd to himself what was possible with a focused and disciplined approach.

Derek said “Completing Ironman was the start of a journey, not the finish and I then raised my sights to complete the “toughest footrace on Earth” – the Marathon des Sables (MdS); 5.5 marathons in 6 days across the Sahara Desert. I’ve set myself the following goals for 2014; 53 mile Ultramarathon, 70.3 Ironman and a 10km river swim. In 2015 I will be running 160 miles in 4 days in the White Desert in Egypt”.
